Cheer leading is it a Sport?
Do you think that cheer leading is a sport? Well it is and there are many reasons why. You need to be able to focus and trust your team mates. You need to work together, be strong and get in shape. It is competition and very competitive. Cheer leading is also for support.
In the sport of cheer leading, you need to be able to focus and confidence your team mates. You will have to focus on the person flying so that way you for one don’t drop her and two you can get her up and down smoothly and safely. In order to accomplish these things you would need to be in shape and strong enough to lift each girl. This sport also requires stamina. You should be able to last throughout the whole game.
There are many requirements that you need to be able to do and have to be a cheerleader. Cheerleaders need to have coordination. They also need to be able to pick up on cerography. The cerography is for that half time dance or for little breaks of music they play. You need to be able to keep a beat. You need to be able to count the beat for the cheers on when to start or for performing the dance so we are all on time and together.
Cheerleaders play an important role at the football games. It is our job to get the crowed started up and excited for the game. Getting the thought in their head that we are going to win. To do that we do cheer's, we dance and we stunt. We like to get the crowed to participate with us. There are cretin cheers that we do that involve the crowed to clap their hands or stomp their feet, it’s a lot of fun for both the crowed and the cheerleaders.
Cheer leading, it involves team work, lots of practice, trust, strength and a whole lot more. Cheer leading is a sport a lot of people say that it is not a sport because they think that all we do is say cheer's or we are not running so it’s not considered a sport. Cheer leading is a sport it may not involve running but it does require a lot of practice and responsibility. If you drop a girl that's ten push ups right there. If you talk during a cheer ten more added on. If you don’t get the cheer right you start all over until it’s perfect. Cheer leading is harder than it looks people just don’t seem to realize that. Now if that’s not a sport than I don’t know what is.
Character Analysis of Ponyboy Curtiss
Ponyboy, The youngest of his two brothers Soda and Darry. He is also the youngest in the gang. Everyone's kid brother. He is 14 and has long brown hair and is skinny. His hair is heavily greased and combed to the back. Ponyboy's mom and dad died in a car wreck. So now his older brother Derry has to work two jobs and never has fun. His older brother Soda works at the gas station. Ponyboy is still jus a kid so he does not work but he goes to school. He is a real smart kid. Gets good grades, loves to read and play football in his free time. Other wise he is out with the gang or going to see movies with Johnny.
Later in the novel, Ponyboy and Johnny met two girls at the movies Cheery and Marcia both Socs. Dally was bothering them. Johnny and Ponyboy had told him to leave them alone standing up for the girls. Which shows that pony cares and is a nice kid unlike Dally. After when they were cooling them self off emotionally by walking to the park and back they ran into the Socs They go beat up and they were drowning Ponyboy. So Johnny killed Bob, Cherry's boy-friend. Pony was scared knowing that Johnny had just killed a Socs. Pony had suggested to go get Dally for help. Pony and Jonny then fallow Dally's instructions to jump the Freight train to Windrixville.
On there train ride to Windrixville, pony had fallen asleep in Johnny's lap. He was dreaming that this whole night was a dream and that none of this had really happened. Yet when Johnny had woken him up to jump he realized that it wasn’t a dream and that it was all real. Once they have reached safety at the abandoned church, Johnny was the one who took responsibility to go get food and a disguise because he was older. Johnny and Pony become very close. They spend their time reading Gone With The Wind aloud. Of coarse Pony was reading because he was smatter and he could explain things to Johnny. They would discuss life and admire sunsets.
Johnny and Pony prove them selves heroic when they immediately, with no thought to self, goes running into the burning church to save the kids trapped inside. During the rescue Johnny told Pony to jump out of the window as he handed him the last kid. Once pony jumped out and Dally had bunched Pony in the back cause he was on fire. A Timber had crashed down on Johnny and broke his back. When Johnny had said to Pony "To guard the gold, remember the good in the world, and rise above being a greaser." Johnny's words to Pony had changed Pony's life.
After being okayed by the doctor with just minor burns and bruises. Pony answered a few questions for the press. They made a whole section about them in the news paper on how greaser had killed someone to becoming a hero and saving a bunch of kids from the burning church. Pony had participated in the refuge helping the greasers win. Finally when Pony had taken Johnny's words to heart and had promised him to be a better person he had reached out to help unprivileged kids.
